Childhood deserves to be remembered exactly as it feels.
One of the things I love most about childhood isn't perfection. It's curiosity.
It's the way little hands reach for toys they've never seen before. The concentration that comes from stacking blocks just one more time. The delight of pretending, exploring, and discovering a world built just for them. That's what these sessions are about. Instead of asking children to smile at the camera, we'll let them play. I'll quietly photograph those genuine moments as they unfold, creating images that feel natural, joyful, and unmistakably like your child.
These short sessions will take place at Shenanigans Toy Store in Charlottesville and are designed to feel easy, casual, and child-led. No stiff posing. No pressure to perform. Just your child playing, exploring, reading, building, laughing, or simply being themselves in a place made for imagination.
What to Expect…
Each family will enjoy a relaxed mini session inside Shenanigans Toy Store while your child explores and plays.
There is no pressure to pose or perform. We'll follow their curiosity, giving them space to discover toys, read books, build, imagine, and simply be themselves.
These sessions are designed for children who love to explore, whether they're shy observers or enthusiastic adventurers.

Why Shenanigans?
Shenanigans has long been one of my favorite places in Charlottesville.
As both a parent and a photographer, I love that it encourages children to slow down, imagine, create, and play. It feels less like a store and more like a place where childhood is celebrated.
